Styling 2012

2 Feb

Now that we’ve rung in the new year and spent a month getting used to writing 2012 on bank forms, lets look forward into the year’s fashion future.

There are key elements every year that you can invest in for year round wear. Buying for year round wear is especially useful here in San Francisco where we only have fall and spring weather and layering is key 365 days a year.

From Spring to Fall  key items for 2012 are:

Fun prints and retro cuts.

Pleated skirts from mini to maxi and beyond.

Cropped jackets from bombers to puffers.

The Little Black Dress

6 Dec

Yes every woman needs to have that little black dress, but why stop there? Is there ever such a thing as too many chic black dresses? Obviously not! According to Oscar De La Renta’s beautiful inspirations there are so many ways to do LBD. The best part of investing in the classic black is that it will never go out of style and it is appropriate for many occasions. Emerald Ladies

29 Nov

Runway colors don’t always take with the real world ladies but this season emerald has really made a hit. This rich color always reminds me old Hollywood glamor.  Perhaps it’s because of Vivian Leigh’s stunning green eyes or that famous emerald gown in Gone With the Wind that made every girl drool. Whatever the reason Emerald is here to stay and this classic  color is definitely a must have for the holiday season.

Fly Away or Just get the Bag

28 Sep

Oh 1963 what a year. It was the golden age of American Jet setting; when flying was glamorous and being a stewardess was every girl’s dream.

From its foundation as America’s first international airline on October 27, 1927, to its peak in the 60s, and throughout the remainder of the 20th century, Pan American Airlines represented luxury, glamour and limitless possibilities.

Adored by celebrities, rock stars and the International elite, iconic Pan Am was made famous by its Clippers, first-class amenities, stewardesses, and of course, the Pan Am bag. Carrying a Pan Am bag signified the prestige of a privileged lifestyle, a certain freedom achieved when the ends of the earth are suddenly within reach.

The now defunct airline lives on in our fond memories as well as in carry on luggage and bags!

Long after the airline closed its doors, the legacy lives on. The Pan Am brand of today lives for fashion, adventure, and the thrill of the journey – no matter what your mode of travel. Pan Am offers vintage and contemporary bags, luggage, accessories and more. So explore, discover, and let the world be your runway.

Want a piece of the jet age? We’ve brought the official Pan Am bags and passport covers to our shop. Each item is made with loads of detailing and has the official certificate sewn into the lining. The bags come in both vintage and contemporary styles, all with lots of compartments and detailing. Check out the collection now available at our shop or on our website.

You might have seen these originals adorning movies like Catch Me if You Can and the new TV show Pan Am. The nostalgic imagery brought back by the movies has made us drool. We just love the retro glam of those blue uniforms and white gloves.
