Shimmer not Shiver on New Years Eve
29 Dec
Whether you are ringing in the new year at a big party or small there is no reason to look shabby. It’s a night for celebration and looking glamorous.
Don’t shy away from shimmer and glitter because it’s what new years is all about. Our festive dresses from UK brand Sugarhill Boutique are perfect for the occasion.

Since New Years is also the dead of winter looking fabulous is only half the battle. Often times we’ve picked out the perfect dress for the occasion and we forget to pick out matching coats and accessories that will help us stay warm on the way to and from the party. Here’s some tips to stay warm that will add to your outfit rather than detract.
Tights! Wool tights are a miracle for warmth. Find something fun that matches your dress. Opaque color tights are a good way to be in style while keeping your legs warm. Or if you are more fashion daring go with something eye catching and make a real statement. Here’s some ideas:
Fur coat! Yes be decadent, fur is in and this is the perfect night to be decked out in a shimmery dress + fur coat like classic Hollywood screen sirens. If you are shy about real furs or find them to be too steep, there are plenty of trendy faux fur coats to be had this season. Fur pairs naturally with evening wear but since it’s such a big trend this season you can get more use on the investment by wear it during the day as well. Here’s some ideas:
Gloves! Not those $2 ugly things sold at the drug store, I mean fashionable awesome gloves. With so many styles to choose from you can easily find one that will keep your warm and fashionable. For an evening event I would say find something slim so you can leave it in your coat pockets when you check your coat or be able to fold into your clutch while indoors. Here are some of my favorite styles.
Women’s body temperature tends to be 10 degrees colder than men which is why we suffer from cold hands and feet in the winter much more than our male counterparts. So with tights and gloves we are winning half the battle to staying warm this New Years Eve.
