Going Wide

If you’ve lived through a good amount of fashion cycles as I have, I’m sure you are begining to realize pant leg trends just go from wide to thin and thin to wide. We’ve been flirting with wide leg for a few years now so it was just a matter of time before we are full committed to the idea. Celebs have been photographed in them and designers have been showing them since 2007.

But people needed more time. I guess after a decade of trending skin tight we have now reached the tipping point. It’s time to go full wide leg again! The spring collections are showing a flood of wide leg pants. And yes it’s all high waist too!

Thanks to Katherine Hepburn who mainstreamed the pant for women, the wide leg will always be classic. But don’t be too hasty to give up your black skinnies. Skinnies are still going strong and will be a few more seasons before we see them vanish. Cuz the other Hepburn lady made that black skinny thing a classic too. Oh Audrey, you will always be in style.
